Course Description

When team members don't understand what the project needs to accomplish or they're not really sure how the work is going to get done, that lack of clarity will have a direct impact on whether the project meets its goals for time, budget, and quality. If you're like many project leaders, you are very focused on the big picture of your project: goals, results, and work status. But are your communication strategies producing the results you need? In this lesson, you will have the chance to examine active listening skills so that you can make sure you are getting the critical information you need. You will use the acronym AEIOU to guide your efforts to listen effectively, and you will consider the fundamentals of what active listening means. This will position you to make sure you're getting a deep understanding of project requirements, stakeholders' needs, and project status.
