Course Description

The same communication practice that works perfectly well in one instance might fall short in another. For example, some messages can be conveyed through written reports, but other topics are better handled in real-time conversations. Project leadership requires good judgment and discernment, and you will have to make many decisions about how best to communicate in order to achieve the best results on your projects. In this lesson, you will have the opportunity to review some recommended best practices for project communication. You will consider whether you need to communicate with people face-to-face, in writing, or via standardized reports. You will think about which methods of communication are best for different project needs, as well as when you might want to employ different methods. You will hear from Mr. Newman about the communication advantages of simply walking around talking to people. Finally, you will consider some of the different ways that you as a project leader can react to failures and mistakes.
