Course Description

When people think about problem solving, they often think of creative brainstorming and solution engineering. When facing a conflict, many people jump to those aspects in an effort to quickly resolve the issues. In this lesson, you will focus on choosing a solution for an ongoing conflict, allowing you to explore the creative and collaborative aspects of the problem-solving approach. To do so, you will practice generating ideas and applying the success criteria to them. By applying the criteria, you will connect possible solutions to the needs and interests of those involved, increasing the likelihood of a positive outcome. You will also look at how to measure and evaluate the success of a resolution, in part using those same success criteria. Finally you will complete an activity that will walk you through the last steps required when applying the problem-solving approach.
