Course Description

In essence, a cash flow statement is a record of a company's receipts and expenditures over a given period of time. It is a summary of a firm's sources and uses of cash. In this lesson, you will define the purpose of the cash flow statement and examine its general structure. You will take a look at a sample cash flow statement to determine the sources and uses of cash within an organization. You will review the structure and use of other elements of financial reporting. You will examine the influence of GAAP and FASB on financial reporting. Finally, you will identify available online sources of industry-specific information.
