Course Description

The balance sheet reveals the assets, liabilities, and owners' equity of a business at a specific point in time. In other words, it shows the net worth of a business, or what it owns and owes at a particular point. Whether you hope to become a better investor or enter the finance field, it's critical that you know how to read a company's balance sheet. In this lesson, you will define the purpose of the balance sheet and examine its general structure. You will also identify the information it contains and the relevance of that information to critical business decisions. Finally, you will identify ways to use the balance sheet for assessing the financial health of an organization.
