Course Description

"You can have it all," said the American writer Betty Friedan, "just not all at the same time." Part of the reason for seeking improved work-life balance is to be able to comfortably pursue your goals, which are highly personal. Work goals may mean advancement, or recognition, or a more sustainable and manageable schedule. Goals at home may include fulfilling family needs or improving your own health and self-care. To achieve a more comfortable balance among all your competing goals, you will take a personal inventory of the portfolio of activities making up your life and consider what's critical and what can be let go.

In this lesson, you will explore some of the academic research related to work-life balance. You will also access a worksheet that will guide that inventory and consider whether you have the right support team in place for your needs now.
