Course Description

You can think about your personality type and your work preferences in terms of your signature: when you sign your name with your dominant hand, it's very natural. No practice is needed. But if you were asked to sign with your other hand, suddenly it becomes very awkward and uncomfortable. You could do it, but you would have to practice to become so expert that a bank would recognize your signature. As you will see, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® can offer a new way to think about personality and how you approach the challenges of a leadership role. In this lesson, you will identify your personality type and your work preferences. You will examine the MBTI®, a commonly used assessment tool, and the insights it offers about the dominant strengths in your own personality. You will investigate your preferences for communicating, generating ideas, and working. You will identify key leadership behaviors, as well as some of the gendered qualities of leadership. You will also reflect on your personality type and how it affects your performance as a leader.
