Course Description

When an employee is failing to meet expectations, there may be many root causes to blame, and only some of them are due to a lack of motivation. In this lesson, you will examine the steps that managers and leaders can take to improve the factors that are most likely to motivate people to a higher level of performance. You will conduct a root-cause analysis of a suspected motivation problem, determining whether a lack of motivation is really the cause of the poor performance. You will also examine leading research from social psychologist Frederick Herzberg related to hygiene factors and motivation.
