Course Description

As the corporate legal landscape undergoes rapid transformation, anticipating and adapting to key legal developments is paramount for in-house legal professionals.

Join us for an immersive two-day summit at Cornell Tech in New York City, tailored specifically to senior in-house legal practitioners including general counsel, corporate counsel, and legal advisors. This unique executive program will enhance leadership skills, delve into emerging legal trends, and provide insight into navigating the complex challenges of the contemporary legal and business environments. The program combines leading-edge legal insights with strategic management principles to provide senior lawyers with the tools and perspectives needed to be a strategic thought partner to the C-suite and board of directors.

Guided by expert Cornell Law faculty and seasoned legal and business practitioners, this program equips you with the knowledge and tools to become a better strategic decision maker and problem solver. Throughout the program, you will engage in panel discussions, case studies, tabletop exercises, and other experiential learning activities and networking to gain insights and explore practical ways to implement best practices. You’ll come away with enhanced leadership skills, a deeper understanding of the evolving legal landscape, and the strategic mindset needed to lead your legal team as a key business partner.

This program includes both recorded and live online coursework. Participants who successfully complete this program will earn CLE credit and a professional certificate from Cornell University.

IMPORTANT PROGRAM INFORMATION

  • ONLINE: 
    • One of two 1.5-hour live session
      • Live faculty-led session: Tuesday June 11, 2024  12 pm to 1:30 pm
      • Live faculty-led session: Thursday June 13, 2024 12 pm to 1:30 pm
    • Attending one of two e live virtual sessions is required for successful completion of the course.
  • In order to meet all the program requirements to earn your certificate and all associated CLEs, you must complete all required coursework including 3 one hour recorded keynote webinars with corresponding assessments. Additional webinars will be available for optional credit. 
  • To maximize your program experience, you will be provided an opportunity to meet your class and receive program-specific information and materials to review prior to starting the program at Cornell Tech. This site will be made available to you on May 1, 2024, and you will receive a reminder at that time. 
  • Your on-campus experience will take place at the Cornell Verizon Executive Education Center in NYC on Roosevelt Island beginning with breakfast and check-in on Thursday, June 20, 2024. The program will conclude Friday, June 21, 2024, at 5:15pm (ET). Breakfast, lunch, and a cocktail and networking reception on Thursday night are included. 
  • Sadie Lorence, Executive Education Program Coordinator, will be your program contact moving forward. If you have questions that cannot be answered on the FAQ page, please feel free to reach out to Sadie (scl242@cornell.edu).
  • Continental breakfast and buffet lunches are provided daily. You will be responsible for your own dinners. 
  • Business-casual attire is appropriate throughout the program.
  • Please note that your session materials will be available digitally. You will need to bring a laptop or tablet with you to campus to access these materials during the sessions. 
  • You are responsible for arranging for your own travel to Roosevelt Island and your own accommodations; please see our FAQ page for useful information.
