Course Description

As a dairy practitioner in private practice, I was a regular user of records analysis and computerized protocols and I continue to value data and information-informed decisions for food animal health and management. In practice and to this day, I commonly pull up metrics on herd performance and provide clients with written reports summarizing my data analytics and what I think the patterns I have discovered mean. However, in my current position managing a herd, I have adjusted how I value various features and reports that are generated by management software. This session will explain how we utilize DairyComp at the Cornell Teaching Dairy, provide commands, shortcuts and other information that will help veterinarians utilize software to provide value to clients and further promote cow care.
