Course Description

Every day, people and supply chains transport huge quantities of food around the world via ships, trains, trucks, and planes. But the world's transportation infrastructure has begun to buckle under the weight of the extreme conditions regularly presented by the changing climate. You will consider several key examples of transportation challenges in this lesson, including chokepoints in the global transportation system. In addition, you will follow the ingredients found in a popular snack food as they make their journey from source to consumers. Finally, you will study the sources of carbon emissions in the transportation of your supplies and products as well as some ways your organization can reduce these emissions.
