Course Description

A single event or a series of circumstances can create a consequence so large that only the international public sector can respond. Once a problem is defined, you need to focus on how to communicate the problem so that stakeholders can understand it, buy in, and explain it to others. You'll be introduced to a tool for results-based planning known as a logical framework and use it to refine your problem statement. In addition, you'll determine how long it will take to solve the problem and how long you will spend working on it. You will then dive deeper into the logical framework to determine more specifics for a given program such as outputs, outcomes, and performance indicators.

Benefits to the Learner

  • Use a logical framework or logframe to analyze the planning and evaluation phase of a problem
  • Establish a time horizon and define objectives for a program to address a problem
