Course Description

Even if not directly involved in high-level labor negotiations, you should be able to support management in its negotiation efforts, and you will periodically need to engage in more routine negotiations with employees.

In this lesson, you will review collective bargaining and how management and labor typically prepare for and engage in bargaining regarding wages, benefits, and other matters. You'll consider the importance of building trust between two sides in a dispute and how helpful it can be to focus on mutual gains. You'll have a chance to participate in a discussion regarding win-win negotiations, and you will draft a negotiation plan.
