Course Description

Marketplaces exist to bring together buyers and sellers. However, challenges such as search costs, disagreement on price, lack of trust, or an inability to select the right partner or employee can interfere with the ideal functioning of a marketplace. The key is to continue to be vigilant about ways to mitigate the inherent problems in marketplaces, where strangers compete to buy and sell products and services. In this lesson, you will explore four techniques to help frame your idea generation in this area, ranging from building a digital marketplace to creating price agreement and mechanisms for trust. To be successful in this lesson, you will need to come prepared with a list of at least 30 ideas for new products and services.
