Course Description

At the heart of becoming a systems thinker is identifying the mismatches between our mental models and reality. We need to be able to recognize our biases and the patterns of thinking that prevent us from thinking clearly and developing accurate perceptions about the problems we are trying to solve. In this lesson, you examine examples of wicked problems such as world hunger and how they result from a mismatch between our mental models and reality. You will also explore different biases, including metaphors and mental models vs. behavior, that contribute to these mismatches.
