Course Description

Inferential statistics, as the name implies, allow you to infer: you can use use data from a sample group to make judgments about an entire population. In this lesson, you will identify the role of discrete variables and how to utilize them in determining probability. You will then use them to determine their population mean, known as expected value. Finally, you will define variance of a discrete variable and explore how to calculate it.

Benefits to the Learner

  • Identify the role of discrete variables and how to utilize them in determining probability
  • Use discrete variables to determine the expected value
  • Define the variance of a discrete value and calculate it
