Course Description

Your system needs to be ready to deliver on your promises. In order to achieve the desired functionality, you need to look at the subsystems inside your system and make sure they function well together. You need to explore the functionality between the interfaces within your system in order to find and resolve any conflicts, and the time to do this is early in the design process, well before the system is implemented. To make this happen, the teams developing each individual subsystem will need to share information with each other. So how will that information be exchanged? In this lesson, you will identify subsystems and discover and document interactions between them. You will also perform a team-oriented CRC card activity as part of the discovery process. Finally, you will use a sequence diagram to build out a detailed description of interactions during system operation.

Benefits to the Learner

  • Identify subsystems and interactions between the subsystems
  • Document interactions between subsystems using various methods
  • Create a sequence diagram to detail interactions during system operation
