Course Description

Emotional intelligence, a term that is widely used in business today, describes a collection of leadership skills that are important for all leaders. But all too often leadership training on this topic is too broad, overwhelming, and unactionable. You have likely had doubts about broaching this topic. How could a leadership workshop magically change the social skills you have been honing for decades? How can a self-assessment suddenly change your personality habits? In this lesson you will resurrect this dormant skill by learning about the microexpressions of seven core emotions and learning to pay more attention to emotional displays. You will practice reading complex facial cues, both in a static quiz and in a movie scene.

Benefits to the Learner

  • Explore the importance of identifying the emotions of others
  • Practice paying closer attention to emotional displays and reading complex facial cues
  • Access a reusable tool to aid you in mastering the identification of microexpressions that relate to certain emotions
