Course Description

This intensive training program equips participants with knowledge and skills essential for successful employment mediation. A comprehensive blend of substantive law and training in mediation process skills prepares participants to become qualified mediators for employment disputes.

By the program’s completion, you will be well prepared to become a qualified employment law mediator. The Employment Law Mediator Training program focuses first on employment law that is applicable to employment mediation, then on in-depth role-playing to help you learn and practice the skills to facilitate the process. Instruction is now available online for the one-month asynchronous knowledge building, followed by the synchronous five-day online training.

Instruction is online for one-month asynchronously (on your own time) for knowledge building, followed by the synchronous (live) five-day online training.

For planning purposes, the synchronous portion of the course will be scheduled, by the instructor during business hours between, Monday, 11:00 am [ET] through Friday 2:00 pm [ET]. During that time there will be simulations and practice of mediation working together in groups. Instructors will communicate with learners regarding their exact schedule during the synchronous portion.

There will be a synchronized component of the course the week of May 20 through 24. During this portion of the course students are required to be available from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Eastern Time for class lectures and Mediation case studies.
