Course Description

COVID-19 presents challenges of historic proportions for the hotel industry. Yet the post-COVID environment may offer new opportunities for hotel industry professionals and investors to navigate.

Building on the coursework in the online Hotel Real Estate certificate program, this advanced live course is designed to help owners, operators, and lenders optimize real estate and intellectual property returns from individual assets while recognizing their place in a larger real estate portfolio.

Additionally, it enables these groups to use their interests in hotel real estate to strategically grow their businesses and prosper throughout the market and asset cycle. Participants will use applications from the front lines of real estate investment to examine capital markets, deal structuring, advanced debt and equity financing, and risk analysis. With examples drawn from an extensive range of international experience, this course has broad application across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and beyond.

Throughout this intensive program, you will explore the complexities of hotel real estate assets using real examples, case studies, and stories shared by your industry peers. You will have the opportunity to expand your industry network as you engage in robust live conversations with Cornell faculty and classmates to tackle the burning issues you’re facing now.

This 2-week course meets in a live online web-conference format from 9:00am-10:30am EDT Monday, July 27 - Saturday, August 1; and Monday, August 3 - Saturday, August 8.
