Course Description

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of various cardiovascular and respiratory conditions through a case-based approach. Key topics include valvular heart disease, ischemic cardiomyopathy, and asthma. You will learn to diagnose these conditions using history, physical exams, and diagnostic imaging such as echocardiograms and MRIs. You will learn the importance of guideline-directed therapy to improve patient outcomes and the role of patient education in managing chronic illnesses. Additionally, you will explore in detail the pharmacological treatments and correct usage of inhaler devices for asthma.
